Abstract EN

The study aimed to know the extent of the importance of Red Sea in the modern history as an area of conflict between Ottoman empire and European countries and how this importance increased after opening Suez canal for shipping.

The study is also aimed to present illegal methods which European countries followed to dominate and control political, military and diplomatic conflicts.

The study used historical documentary method in analyzing documents as well as references.

It used comparative method to compare events with each other with the aim of obtaining historical facts.

The study findings are: The importance of Red Sea emerged due to some factors, in addition, some ancient facts and modern changes.

Ottoman empire excerted effort to keep Red Sea out reach of Europeans.

The importance of Red Sea increased to an open conflict field between Ottomans and British.
