Abstract EN

The current study aimed to investigate the effectiveness of a program based on group play in developing social skills of preschool children with Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder.

Sample consisted of (16) children with Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder aged (4-6) years, who got the lowest scores on the social skills scale, in Alwarda Albaidaa Kindergarten, at Awesh Elhager, Mansoura, Dakahlia Governorate.

Instruments are: An Arabic version of Vanderbilt scale for Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (parents' reports) (Radi, 2012 ), social skills scale (validated by the researcher) and a program based on group play (validated by the researcher).

Results of the study revealed statistically significant differences between the mean scores' ranks of experimental group and the control group in the post- test on the social skills scale in favor of the former.

There were statistically significant differences between the mean scores' ranks of experimental group in the pre and post tests on the social skills scale in favor of the post- test and there were no statistically significant differences between the mean scores' ranks of the experimental group in the post and follow-up tests on the social skills scale.

Results indicate high effect size of the group play program in developing social skills of the experimental group.
