Abstract EN

This study aims to identify the work system inside the library of the Umayyad Calipha Al-Hakam Al-MustansirBillah (350- 366 AH/960976- AD), in terms of its employees and the services provided by this library such as lending, restoration, and copies of books, in addition to some debates and seminars that the calipha heldAl-Hakam al-Mustansir in the sitting in his library, or in one of his palace rooms, for research and consultation, and to discuss the various sciences, which was a reason for scholars to gain favour with the Calipha.

The importance of this study lies in an attempt to shed light on what is related to Al-Hakam Al-Mustansir library from a new point of view, clarifying the civilized role of libraries, and calling for their revival and activating their civilized role .The library of Calipha Al-Hakam Al-Mustansir was a beacon for science and scholars, as it provided many jobs in it, because the book was going through several stages until it was sold and acquired, and this is evidence of the extent of interest in the book.
