Abstract EN

Nietzsche is a well know Atheist philosopher in contemporary philosophy.

He expressed his position through his famous expression: "God has died", though, simple at the surface, is very deep and complicated.

In fact, it can be interpreted in different, diverse, and even contrasting ways.

Indeed, it bears many connotations; religious and philosophical.

With regard to the religious ones, the term deity’s means the death of the Christian God, with it the Christian religion, and all religion.

Its philosophical implications are, as well, many, but we will address only the most important of them, which are three; the death of God means first the death of traditional metaphysical world, and with it the death of the traditional ontology, secondly the death of all traditional, rational and idealistic philosophies.

Finally, the death of all morals; the forefont of christian ethics.

Those different connotations have enabled Nietzsche to realize his great philosophical project ; the comprehensive and radical overthow of all values.
