Abstract EN

This research is concerned with studying the issue of marine pollution in derna sea port, with the aim of knowing the sources of marine pollution, and the impact of shipwrecks, bulldozers and fishing boats on marine pollution, and how population density and wastewater affect marine pollution, and to achieve these goals, the descriptive, analytical, historical and some methods are used.

scientific and statistical methods the study concluded with a set of results, of which we mention that the amount of fuel consumption differs from one vessel or fishing boat to another, which makes the amount of leakage possible due to operation or supply, especially during manual fuel supply, and as the liquid wastes are discharged to hospitals, homes and some factories in the sewage networks, which are thrown directly towards part of it reaches the water of the el mina basin, and these wastes are considered one of the most dangerous types of liquid waste, as they contain many types of dangerous germs and bacteria that cause many types of diseases.

this paper proposes activating maritime control over pollution caused by ships and fishing boats inside the port basin, imposing penalties on the owners of these ships and fishing boats, establishing stations for treating sewage water and using it for agricultural purposes, and activating the media role to know the extent of the damage that pollutants leave in the marine environment.
