Abstract EN

The study deals with the simple verbal sentence in the Arabic and Masalit languages (a contrastive study) It attempts to answer the main research questions of the study: What is the structure of the simple verbal sentence in the Arabic and Masalit languages, and what are the differences and similarities in the two languages.

this study is significant because it guides learners to carry out their linguistic studies towards Sudanese languages, and it helps learners to know about Sudanese languages.

the results contribute to teaching Arabic to non-native speakers.

the study aims at displaying the structure of simple sentences in the two languages under study, and clarifying the similarities and differences between the Arabic and Masalit languages, and to provide the library with a contrastive study between Arabic and asalit languages, identifying the simple sentence system in the Masalit language, learning Arabic, trying to contribute to overcoming some of its difficulties, and revealing the forms of the actual sentence in the Arabic and Masalit languages.

the study addressed its problem in four axes : the first axis deals with the Masalit people and the land.

the second axis deals with the concept of the sentence in the Arabic language and its elements.

the third axis deals with the concept of the sentence and its elements in the Masalit language.

the fourth axis is devoted to contrast between the two languages and their elements.

the study came out with some important results: the definition of the term sentence in the two languages is almost the same, the two languages agree in dividing the sentence into complete and incomplete, the sentence in the two languages consists of two main pillars : the subject and the predicate, deleting the subject and the predicate is permissible in both languages, the presence of prepositions in the Arabic language (prefixes) and in the Masalit language (suffixes) .the study recommended to pay attention to Sudanese languages.
