Abstract EN

This study aimed to identify the extent to which local entities are committed to implementing governance standards from the citizens' point of view, through the standards of rule of law, accountability, disclosure and transparency, participation, efficiency and effectiveness, responsiveness and consensus.

In the West Bank, as for the study sample, its size reached (100) citizens, who were chosen through the available sample method, and the researcher used the questionnaire as a tool to collect data and information.

Transparency is the most adherent to by local bodies, and the rule of law is the least of those standards.

The study recommended a set of recommendations, the most prominent of which is the need to train workers in local authorities on governance standards.
