Abstract EN

This research aimed to identify fiqhi thinking and its basic skills for the students of Sharia colleges.

To achieve the objectives of the research, the researcher used the qualitative approach.

The interview was used as a research instrument.

A number of questions were asked to the participants, who numbered (13) purposefully selected from some Saudi university professors and PhD holders.

After obtaining the data, they were analyzed thematically.

The results showed that most of the participants defined fiqhi thinking as a mental process carried out by someone who has achieved a degree of sufficiency in fiqh achievement using a number of skills to consider fiqhi issues starting from the evidence to the fact and vice versa.

The participants agreed on (8) basic skills for fiqhi thinking: fiqhi deduction, fiqhi induction, fiqhi inference, fiqhi conditioning, fiqhi reasoning, fiqhi rule making, fiqhi criticism and fiqhi assumptions.

The participants also indicated the importance of fiqhi thinking for the student, and for the development and teaching of fiqh.

It is more appropriate to teach the skills of fiqh through the courses of fiqh and the principles of fiqh.

In light of the research results, the research recommended the importance of raising awareness among specialists of teaching fiqh about the mechanisms of teaching fiqhi thinking skills and the method of integrating them into the curriculum, benefiting from the results of the study in order to develop Islamic fiqh teaching.

The research suggested conducting more studies on the skills of fiqhi thinking and linking them to the answers and inferences of former imams and scholars.

It is also suggested to conduct a scientific study on designing a training program for fiqh professors in teaching fiqhi thinking skills, together with another scientific study with the aim of specifying the sub-skills of fiqhi thinking.
