Abstract EN

This study is entitled ‘The Ability and its Impact on Action According to Al-Juwayni in Light of Ibn Taymiyyah's Belief.

’ Ability has an impact on action according to the doctrine of Imam Ibn Taymiyyah and Imam Al-Juwayni before the end of his life.

This study examines the ‘ability’ and its impact on action according to Imam Al-Juwayni through examining his belief and whether it has an impact or not.

Imam Al-Juwayni had his own experience in doctrines, especially matters the matters related to destiny.

In contrast to other Ash'ari scholars, he had two important stages in his life.

The first stage was his belief in the Ash'ari beliefs as they are and preferring reason over revelation in inference, and at that stage Juwayni denied the impact is the ability on action, and this was mentioned in his book Al-Irshad and Al-Shamil.

In the second stage of his life, he referred to the doctrine of the Salaf, and inferred by the texts of the Holy Quran and Sunnah and more than reason.

At this stage and in his book al-Nizamiyyah , Imam Al-Juwayni turned to the opposite of his belief that the ‘ability’ does not impact action, to say that it has impact on action.

By that he agreed with Imam Ibn Taymiyyah who approved the impact of ability on action.
