Abstract EN

This paper discusses, with a historical approach, the features of the pre-Islamic Arab Christian belief in their conception of God, through research and investigation of pre-Islamic poetry from its sources.

On the other hand, this study discusses the two books of researcher Louis Sheikho: "Christianity and its literature among the pre-Islamic Arabs", and "Christian poets".

In the claim of his generalization, the majority of Arabs became Christian before the advent of Islam, and his evidence for this is from the pre-Islamic poetry.

The study concluded that the poems of the Christians included their swearing by Christ and the Cross as well as their oath to idols and Mecca, which indicates their tendency to a kind of merging between their ancient religious heritage and the incoming thought.

In addition, their poems did not contain evidence of their knowledge of the details of Christian theology, as there was no reference in their poems to mention the doctrine of the Trinity, redemption, crucifixion, or any expression that indicates it.

As for the claim of the Christianization of the Arabs, which was presented by the researcher Louis Sheikho in his two books, it is a claim on which no reliable scientific evidence has been established.
