Abstract EN

This study aims at recognizing crimes against electronic payments cards.

Crimes on this card by others have also been recognized, in addition to the crimes committed by the cardholder himself using the descriptive, analytical, comparative legal methods.

This research reached, at the end, some findings and recommendations.

The results of this research were finally reached.

One of the main findings was that the introduction and spread of electronic payment cards in the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan to commercial markets were not accompanied by the legislative development necessary to protect them legally.

Article 6 of the Electronic Crimes Law No.

27 of 2015 indicates that the Jordanian legislator did not specifically specify the mechanism of protection of the electronic payment card against its illegal use, which makes the door open for its illegal use.

This lack of legislation is compounded by the lack of case law in this area.

And recommending that penal legislation should be consistent with technological development, noting that there is a large gap between cyber-crime and penal legislation.
