Abstract EN

The study aimed to identify the effectiveness of the religious psychological counseling program to manage psychological crises among a sample of students from the College of Education at King Khalid University in Saudi Arabia.

The study sample consisted of (30) first-year students in the Department of Psychology who showed low scores on the psychological crisis management scale prepared by it.

The researcher is in the first semester of the academic year 2019/2020 AD, and the use of quasi-experimental approach to its suitability with research procedures, so the sample was divided, this sample was divided into two groups: the experimental group (15) students were exposed to the psychological and religious counseling program designed by the researcher, and the control group (15) female students who were not exposed to the program, and the researcher took into account the homogeneity of the program the study sample in the experimental and control groups in terms of chronological age and degree of psychological crisis management before applying the program to the experimental group, and the performance of the members of the two groups was measured on the psychological crisis management scale after applying the program, while the follow-up measurement was taken for the experimental group after four weeks of the program’s end and showed results: there are statistically significant differences between the average ranks of the experimental and control groups in the dimensions (psychological, religious, social) and The total degree of the psychological crises management scale immediately after the application of the program, at the level of significance (0.01) in favor of the experimental group, as well as the absence of statistical significant differences between the post and follow-up measurements on the dimensions of the psychological crises management scale, which indicates the success and effectiveness of the religious psychological counseling program in crisis management.

The study recommended the necessity of paying attention to psychological and religious counseling programs to confront the crises experienced by students of public and university education stages in order to overcome its in a positive and even manner.
