Abstract EN

This study aims to identify the social stigma associated with infection with Covid 19, and its causes, manifestations, and psychological and social effects The researcher used the descriptive analytical method and the case study of four cases of infected people in the central region who underwent the quarantine experience in the quarantine centers from the Middle zone, which gives an in-depth and clear picture of the experiences of this category, where in-depth and semi-structured interviews were conducted, and the study tools were also relied on, which are represented in: Simple observation, interview, interview content analysis, and case study guide prepared by the researcher.

The results of the study showed: that the stigma was caused by the general public and close people, and that the most important reasons for exposure to social stigma are due to the fact that the disease is modern and no information is available about it.

Thus, social stigma has increased the level of feelings of fear, anxiety and failure to follow the methods of social adjustment.

The study recommended conducting more studies on the social stigma associated with covid 19, spreading facts and awareness about ways to deal with cases of Covid 19 and using social media to spread awareness and provide health information about it, involve influencers, and hold psychological support sessions and emotional to support and provide those who suffer from social stigma.

Adaptation strategies within society, coordination between various ministries such as health, media and social affairs to work on spreading awareness and mechanisms to reduce stigma.
