Abstract EN

The study aimed to uncover the reality of urban transport in Amman city in terms of its problems and the suggested solutions.

To achieve study objectives, the analytical and descriptive approach was used.

In addition, an online questionnaire was designed and distributed to a convenience sample of 305 people living in Amman via social media websites.

The study concluded with some results, the most important of which are: the presence of some problems that individuals face while moving within the areas of Amman.

These problems include oldness of public transport vehicles, overcrowding inside public transport, failure to adhere to the scheduled freight, in addition to the lack of comfort in the means of transportation (such as disturbance, loud radio, and smoking).

Several solutions were proposed, according to the answers of the study sample and in the foreground, and with a high degree to require public vehicle owners to put up signs related to preserving the environment, and to put in place a phone number for complaints.

The study recommends adopting some incentives to persuade individuals to use the public transportation system, linking urban planning to issues of movement, transportation and traffic, and adopting strategies that call for reducing the use of private vehicles.
