Abstract EN

This study examines the story of the Prophet Lot in the books of interpretation to show the original and extraneous narrative.

It attempts to explain the details extraneous narratives in some books and sayings that negatively affected the correct understanding of the story of this noble Prophet.

So this study identifies the place of the extraneous narratives and reveals its falsehood.

Then it shows the accurate interpretation.

One of the most prominent findings of this study is that the people of Lot had gone to extremes with desires, and that led them to be the first to commit the atrocity of homosexuality .

The research shows that the people of Lot turned away when he called them to leave immorality.

Therefore, they deserved to be punished and to inflict torment on them.

Some extraneous narrations indicate the urgency of Lot the occurrence of torment on his people, and his testimony on them, and how the angels destroy them, and assigning their number and identity, and details about raising their village to heaven.

All of these narratives lack valid evidence, which requires disregarding them, and the adoption of an authentic interpretation that is based on what is true from the aphorisms and praised opinions .
