Abstract EN

This study aimed to identify the relationship between the transformational leadership of primary schools’ principals in the Hebron Education Directorate and the psychological hardness of teachers from teachers' perspectives.

The study population consisted of (1657) male and female primary public-school teachers in Hebron Education Directorate, in the academic year (2021), (493) and (1164) male and female teachers respectively.

The study used the descriptive correlative quantitative research method.

The sample consisted of (400) male and female teachers who were selected using stratified random sample technique.

The study results show that the level of practice of transformational leadership by basic schools’ principals in the Hebron Education Directorate came at a medium degree, with an average of (3.30), and the level of psychological hardness of primary schools’ teachers in Hebron Education Directorate came also at a medium degree, with an average of (3.45).

Also, the results show direct and statistically significant positive correlation between practicing transformational leadership of principals of basic schools in the Hebron Education Directorate and the level of teachers’ psychological hardness, where the correlation coefficient of the relationship between them was (0.67).

Results also found a positive correlation between practicing transformational leadership of principals of basic schools and psychological hardness level of teachers from teachers' perspectives according to: teachers' gender, years of teaching experience, academic qualifications, and specializations.

The study recommended the need to develop special training programs for school principals to enhance their transformational leadership competencies in order to invest all human resources in the educational institution.
