Abstract EN

This study aims to identify fertility levels of Saudi population in the city of Buraidah, to identify geographical factors affecting it and the extent of family planning methods usage.

Data has been collected by using a questionnaire designed to collect data about the spatial, housing, demographic, social and economic characteristics of husband and wife.

It has been analyzed by using of One-way Analysis of Variants, T-test, and Pearson Correlation.

Findings can be summarized as follows: fertility levels in Buraidah are about (3) children per family.

The results reveal variations in desire of couples having children.

the extent of the families that take decision of delivering a baby with the consensus of the couple is (76%), the percentage of couple desire to have a baby in the future is (71%), the desire of wives giving birth in the future, is (70%).The rate the infant mortality in the year1437H reached (2%); and the percentage of the wife's giving birth in1437H, was (30%).The results of the study reveals prevalence of family planning methods means among Saudi women in Buraydah city, Where the percentage was (74%).

It indicates wide use of modern family planning methods, i.e.

(97%).

The study finds that it was the interest of wives, using family planning methods, is to devote themselves for children upbringing, caring wife health and spacing of delivery, plus family financial circumstances
