Abstract EN

The study aimed to identify the role of social teachers in enhancing self-directed learning skills for middle school students from the viewpoint of the teaching staff in the education of Babylon.

The researcher designed a questionnaire for teachers that consisted of (33) items, and the study sample consisted of (40) teachers and social studies teachers, who were chosen in a sim1ple random way.

The results showed that the responses of teachers in the education of Babel were moderately with a percentage of 76.2, and there were no significant differences in the opinions of teachers for their role in enhancing self-directed learning skills for middle school students according to the variables of gender, educational qualification, and years of service.

The study also showed the presence of Great convergence between the views of the faculty towards enhancing self-directed learning skills, and the study recommended the necessity of providing a supportive environment for the implementation of self-directed learning in the preparatory stage.
