Wheat (Triticum aestivum L).

is one of the most crucial staple food crops in Egypt and worldwide it is adversely affected by water stress.

The study aims at examine the genetic characterization of nine bread wheat genotypes, Sahel-1 (P1), Gemmiza-9 (P2), Sakha-94 (P3), Misr-1 (P4), Giza-168 (P5), L146 (P6),L133 (P7), L142 (P8) and L147 (P9) using microsatellite (SSR) markers.

A total number of 48 scorable bands were amplified by five SSR primers.
