The study sought to identify the values of citizenship contained in the Arabic Reading books for the three upper grades of the primary stage in Iraq.

To achieve this, the researcher followed the descriptive analytical approach, and took the content of the Arabic reading books prescribed for the three upper grades (fourth, fifth, and sixth) of primary school as a sample for her study.

To analyze the values included in the books.

The researcher designed two instruments: citizenship values questionnaire, and content analysis checklist.

The research sample included (61) sub-values distributed over (8) main areas, and the researcher adopted (the idea) as a unit for analysis, counting, and recording.

Date analysis led to a number of findings, such as: The total frequencies of citizenship values included in the content of the three books amounted to (289) frequencies, and the distribution of these values in the content of these books was logical and ascending according to the sequence of grades.

The lowest frequency of values was in the fourth primary grade with a total of (86) frequencies, then the fifth primary with a total of (94) frequencies, and the highest Frequency of values was in the sixth grade of primary school with a total of (109) frequencies.

The content of the three books included all the eight citizenship values areas, but the total of their frequencies, and the degree of their availability differed from one grade to another.
