Abstract EN
The main purpose of the study was to investigate the servant leadership behaviors and teachers' job satisfaction in EL Daien secondary schools in Sudan.
The research design employed was a descriptive survey with mixed approaches.
The sources of data for this study were secondary school teachers and school principals.
The main data collection instrument was questionnaires for teachers.
In addition, the sample school principals were interviewed.
The sample consists of 650 teachers and 10 principals.
Teachers were selected using simple random sampling; the school principals were selected using purposive sampling.
The questionnaires were given to 284 teachers, and the interviews were given to 8 principals; 284 teachers and 8 principals completed and returned the questionnaires.
The mean, standard deviations, an independent samples t-test, Pearson correlation were employed for data analyses.
The qualitative data were analyzed using the thematic analysis and interview method.
Hence, the study came up with major findings.
First, there is a lower level of servant leadership practices in EL Daien secondary schools.
Secondly, Strong positive relationship was revealed between servant leadership behaviors of school principals and teachers’ job satisfaction and servant leadership was a significant predictor of teacher job satisfaction.
Thirdly, there is an average level of a teacher's job satisfaction in EL Daien secondary schools in term of payment.
Moreover, the school's principals are recommended that to instate servant leadership and equip themselves and others with the required knowledge and skills, this may also help record better performances and achieve the goal of the schools.
In addition, researchers are recommended to conduct longitudinal studies and test long-term correlations and causality between servant leadership and teachers' job satisfaction in Eldaien secondary schools.
Consequently, they may come up with better insights and results that can add value to the existing body of knowledge and practices.
