Algeria witnessed several transformations in various fields, such as the cultural field, during the colonial colonial period and beyond, up to our present time or the contemporary period.

those transformations and changes that had an eloquent impact, whether in the formation and supply of certain ideas and ideologies, or in compromising others that were authentic and prevalent in the Algerian individual, such as his identity that was stung covertly and publicly, so that a group of intellectuals would be aware if we did not transfer the elite to the use of theater to consolidate the principle of Algerian identity sometimes, and to search for it sometimes.

Accordingly, it comes to our minds and as a problematic for our subject: what is the image of the current Algerian theater in light of the transformations that the country has undergone? what is the role of theater as an art in establishing and preserving the Algerian identity? how can we classify the current Algerian theater?.
