Abstract EN

This study addresses the concept of knowledge management in the digital environment as one of the effective strategies for preserving cultural heritage.

The case study method was used to highlight this practice at the Algerian National Library and its role in improving performance by taking the digitization project of rare manuscripts and books as a model; and to identify the challenges facing the achievement of the main objective of this project, which is to make available the knowledge produced by the reading of Law N° 98-04.

The study revealed that the digitization project under discussion reflects the desire of the Algerian National Library to move towards a model of knowledge management through the activation of certain activities linked to it, such as the creation and preservation of knowledge On the other hand, both the process of knowledge dissemination, still limited by the internal availability of the library, and its application process, always based on traditional methods
