The study aimed to know the effect of a counseling program in developing psychological security for a sample of children with behavioral and emotional disorders, and the research relied on the experimental method.

The sample consisted of (60) male and female students with behavioral and emotional disorders distributed into two groups equally: one experimental and the other a control, and the psychological security scale prepared by Al-Najjar (2012), the Birx scale for assessing behavior, and a counseling program for the development of psychological security prepared by the two researchers were used.

The results of the study indicated that there was a statistically significant difference at the level (0.05) between the mean differences between the pre- and post-test scores for the experimental and control groups, and the difference was in favor of the experimental group, and this indicates the positive impact of the presented program.

It was also found that there were statistically significant differences at the level (0.05) between the average ranks of the male scores and the average ranks of the female members of the experimental group in the post-test for psychological security, and this is evidence of the difference in the impact of the program according to the gender variable for behaviorally and emotionally disturbed children.

In light of the results, a number of recommendations and suggestions were presented.
