ملامح حكم الحجاج لليمن (72-95 ه 692-714 م)‎ : دراسة تاريخية نقدية

Abstract EN

This research scientifically discusses the features of the reign of Al-Hajjaj in Yemen (72-95 AH / 692-714 AD) by tracing the laws imposed on the citizens of Yemen during his indirect reign and their consequences.

The research relied on collecting the materials from original sources, following the quantitative descriptive historical method which is based on analysis, comparison, criticism and conclusion.

The research also highlighted the conditions that paved the way to the annexation of Yemen to the Hijaz during Al-Hajjaj’s reign.

The findings of this study indicate that the motive of Abdulmalik bin Marwan to annex Yemen to the Hijaz under the reign of Al Hajjaj was to subdue its citizens and to force them to surrender, as Al-Hajjaj was seen as a force for stability and a guard against revolt and rebellion.
