The aim of the current research is to verify the effect of the cognitive acceleration strategy in acquiring historical concepts for middle school students.
The first of the academic year (2021-2022) the research sample consisted of (61) students, (31) students for the experimental group and (30) students for the control group, which were randomly selected the two research groups were rewarded with the following variables (students' age in months, intelligence, degrees of acquisition of historical concepts, parents' educational attainment level).
Behavioral objectives were prepared for the scientific subject, which in its final form consisted of (30) behavioral objectives, and in light of these objectives, 12 teaching plans were prepared after verifying their validity by presenting them to a group of experts and arbitrators.
The researcher prepared two tools for research, the test for acquiring historical concepts, the test consisted of (30) objective paragraphs of the type of multiple choice with four alternatives whose validity and psychometric properties were verified.
The coefficient of ease and difficulty of its paragraphs, discriminatory power, and the effectiveness of wrong alternatives.
The stability of its paragraphs was found by adopting the alpha-Cronbach equation, as it reached (0.95), and after processing the data statistically and using the statistical bag, the results of the research showed: There is a statistically significant difference at the level of significance (0.05) between the average scores of the experimental group students who study according to the cognitive acceleration strategy and the scores of the control group students who study according to the usual method in the achievement test in history in favor of the average of the experimental group.
Based on these results, the researcher developed a set of conclusions and recommendations, and suggested conducting subsequent studies to complement the research.
