Health can be seen as an important component of economic development for the key role it plays in increasing production, increasing productivity, and hence increasing gross domestic product by improving and developing the state of health of the human being.

This, of course, represents both the development objective and the means for its implementation.

The Algerian community has observed an improvement in the state of health of the population.

However, despite the relative improvement in quantitative health indicators and the achievements made in the field of health, it still suffers from significant shortcomings which have negatively affected its results, which slows down the development process.

These shortcomings include the lack and misuse of financial resources allocated to development, the disproportionate regional distribution of medical institutions in the country, as well as the poor medical services provided.
