The organizations supervising higher education institutions in different countries have established reference systems that these institutions must adhere to in order to ensure the quality of operations and outputs of these institutions, which was done by the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research in Algeria through the establishment of a national reference system for internal quality assurance in higher education institutions, covering many fields, including the field of scientific research In this context, we will try to examine the criteria of assurance quality of scientific research in the higher education institutions in Algeria, by first addressing the concept of quality assurance higher education in institutions, and secondly review the Algerian approach in the field of quality assurance in higher education institutions, and thirdly dissecting the components of the domain of scientific research in the national reference system for internal quality assurance in higher education institutions.
