Abstract EN

The right to health, or as it is also called the right to the enjoyment of the highest attainable standard of physical and mental health, is a fundamental human right recognized by both international and domestic laws.

It is a state of complete physical, mental and social well-being and not merely the ence of disease or infirmity, as defined by the constitution of the World Health Organization (WHO).

The right to health is closely linked to other human rights, such as the right to have a sufficient and safe quantity of drinking water ( the right to water), and the right to live in a safe environment ( the right to environment).

This paper discusses the right to health and its relationship with the right to drinking water and sanitation and with the right to a safe environment in the light of the last constitutional amendment of the Algerian constitution and related provisions of Algerian and international legal documents.
