The study dealt with critical phenomena in literary criticism in the second and third centuries AH.

This study aims to identify critical phenomena as a critical term, and then to stand on the development of criticism during this period, addressing the efforts of linguists in the second and third centuries AH.

The study applied the descriptive analytical method.

Ultimately, results showed that the critical study can be used in lessons of critical Studies.

The Critics at that period were looking for the features that distinguish one poet over another in terms of words or meanings.

Literary criticism is based mainly on the understanding and taste of literary work, in addition to the strength of observation and knowledge of subtle differences between all poets.
