The Study aimed to identify the principle of reward and punishment in Islamic educational thought from the point of view of the imams of Muslim scholars, Ibn Sahnoun, Ibn Miskawayh, al-Ghazali, Ibn Jama'ah, and Ibn Khaldun.The method of reward and punishment among the methods of Islamic education, and its feasibility in education and teaching if it is set according to their conditions.
The study used the descriptive analytical method, and the historical method.
The sludy reached several results, the moSt important of which are; Ibn Sahnoun sees in reward and punishment fairness between Students in education, kindness to them, and discipline a boy if they hurt each other, as Ibn Miskawayh acknowledges reward and acknowledges what was moral without resorting to temptation from him with money, and in punishment, intimidation of blame is the slightest uglylt appears from it, and Al-Ghazali emphasizes the importance of reward and punishment in evaluating morals, and regarding the offender, he sees that it is not too much for him to say admonition at all times.And Ibn Jama’ah believes that the teacher should take care of the student’s interests, with advice and kindness, without restriction and abuse, with the intention of raising him well and improving his manners, while Ibn Khaldun sees that the severity of the learners in him is harmful to them, and Ibn Hajar slates that the teacher does not have the right to hit the young, unlessHis guardian has given him permission, and it is permissible for him to do that because of bad manners, or because of an indecency from him, or for him harming others, or for uttering something that is not appropriate, and for everything that is correct for him.
