Abstract EN

The research was titled the terms and boundaries of the freedom of opinion and expression in international agreements.

The importance of this research is that the human right to freedom of opinion and expression is one of the genuine rights of humans and it includes two bound-together freedoms that are impossible to separate or to exercise one of them without the other.

The first is the freedom of opinion and the second is the freedom of expression; because it is an expression of a human’s ability to adopt opinions and ideas in different ways of expression while adhering to the acceptable criteria of practicing it.

It is one of the cases that occupied all societies theoretically and practically.

the research followed the descriptive and analytic methodologies and the research showcased the concept of freedom of opinion and expression and the manifestations of its expression.

Within the terms and boundaries of this freedom in international conventions and the research concluded the research by explaining the international and Arabic efforts to strengthen this right considering that it is one of the natural rights.

The research aimed to clarify the legal terms and boundaries entrusted with this right, the most important results were: the research showed the lacking enactment of the practice of this right in the laws and legislation of some countries and the abuses that humans face in exercising their right to the freedom of opinion and expression.

The most important consultations are: The freedom of expression is a double-edged weapon that has to be bent in the service of the interests of Sates and individuals in societies.

And to not give space to governments to expand in the interpretation of these international terms and boundaries.

It’s best to let the judicature interpret them even if the text of the convention does not demand that.
