The educational counselor is the focus of the counseling process in the school, as through him coordination takes place between the school administration and the educational body on the one hand and between students and parents on the other side, as the educational counselor should have many features, including that he has an awareness of his own goals and objectives, which represent a journey to personal or personal growth and exploration between what he desires to achieve in terms of goals and objectives that are in agreement with himself, and what is imposed upon him in terms of work and duties entrusted to him and to be a positive person with high I power and through it he sets out to build the personality of the guides and work to help them solve their problems.

The current research is determined by Educational counselors for both sexes (males and females) for the Directorate of Public Education in the Holy Karbala Governorate for the academic year (2019-2020), and in order to achieve the objectives of the current research, it was necessary to build and adopt my tools for measuring goals concordant with the self and the strength of the ego, so the researcher built a tool to measure self-concordant goals, the theory is adopted (Deci and Ryan, 1985), and the definition of self-concordant goals was adopted (Sheldon and Houser Marko, 2001).

In light of it, four components of the definition were formulated and each component was assigned a set of paragraphs of its own and presented to a number of experts and arbitrators.

The psychometric properties of the tool were extracted by extracting the construct validity indicators by extracting the coefficients of the degree of linkage of the paragraph with the field to which it belongs and the degree of the paragraph to the total degree of the tool as well as The apparent honesty and veracity of the paragraphs by extracting the discriminatory power for each paragraph and the stability was extracted, and the research came out With the following results: 1- The educational counselors have a weak level of Self-concordant goals.

2- There are significant differences in goals concordant with self-according to the gender variable and in favor of females, and there are no differences in goals concordant with self-according to the variable of service period between males and females.
