Abstract EN

The article is the results of a field study of the phenomenon of gated housing in the Moroccan city of MOHAMMEDIA, or what is locally called “closed and guarded residential residences” and globally (gated communities).

The study was conducted using the interview technique with 10 families living in this type of housing.

These residents chose isolation and escape from the city’s problems and search for calm, security and a range of services provided by the real estate refresher, which has built the city and offers a range of products, the most important of which is the walled housing, promoting a new lifestyle by offering a product in the form of a « package» that combines housing and services that have become absent in public domain.
