Abstract EN

The Islamic Maghreb -also known as the northwest Africa- has throughout its diverse and authentic history played a major role in strengthening the spiritual religious and diplomatic relations between its inhabitants and the inhabitants of the kingdoms and states of the Christian West.

The historical period extending from the sixth and eighth centuries AH/ second and fourteenth AD was considered the best evidence and a picture of the stereotyped spiritual and diplomatic communication between Morocco and the Christian West.

The countries that ruled the northwest Africa such as Almoravids, Almohad, and Merinids had a clear imprint in creating peaceful coexistence between Christian and Muslim communities.

In addition to emphasizing on the importance of the embassy and embassies between the two sides which aim to strengthen friendly relations through exchanging gifts and letters between the symbols of the ruling authorities.

This paper is divided into two sections: (1) Coexistence and spiritual-religious communication between the Muslims of the Islamic Maghreb and the Christians of Western Europe.

Besides, (2) friendly relations and the exchange of embassies between Muslim sultans -the Almoravids, the Almohad, the Merinids- and the princes and kings of western Europe.
