The current research aims to identify the extent to which theknowledge dimension of TIMSS requirements is included in thecontent of the science book for the sixth grade of elementary school, by answering the research question: To what extent is the knowledge dimension of TIMSSrequirements included in the content of the sixth elementaryscience textbook? Where the researcher adopted the method of content analysis, which is one of the descriptive methods of the approach, because itis characterized by the qualities of systematic scientific research interms of objectivity, impartiality, regularity, and the possibility ofgeneralizing the results it reaches, and to achieve the goal of theresearch, the researcher built a list of TIMSS requirements, whichconsisted of (3) areas and (16) criteria Main and (29) sub-indicators.

The results of the analysis showed that the science textbook forthe sixth grade of elementary school included all the requirements ofTIMSS for the dimension of cognitive processes, but in varyingproportions, as the field of knowledge came first at a rate of(47.92% ), which is higher than the percentage specified for thisfield, and the field of reasoning and inference came in second placewith a percentage of (35.71% ), which is a very high percentage thatexceeded the specified percentage for this field, and the field of application came in third and last place with a percentage (16.36% ), which is less than the percentage specified for this field, in light ofthe results, the researcher recommends: Take into account theinclusion of sub-indicators that are not included in the book.

The researcher suggest: Conducting an analytical study of thecontent of the science course in Iraq for all levels of education inlight of the standards for the study of international trends (TIMSS).
