Abstract EN

The current study investigated the differences in self-esteem between two groups.

The first group is the students who are in foundation program and the second group is the students who successfully completed the foundation program and have begun their degree.

The study also aimed to investigate whither the high school performance may predict students' self-esteem.

The sample was 100 students and were randomly selected.

They completed self-esteem questionnaire.

The results presented statistical differences among two groups.

The student who have begun their degrees have shown higher self-esteem compared to those who are still in the foundation program.

Additionally, the high school performance statistically predicted students' self-esteem and explained the variance in the students' self-esteem (R2 = 0.31).

Applications and future studies are discussed.
