Abstract EN

The problematic of this research paper is: How does proximity media contribute to the establishment participatory democracy in Algeria after that media has an important role in influencing the citizens' lives in all fields.

The research aims to highlight the importance of the media in the promotion of participatory democracy in Algeria from three axes.

The first one presents an approach to identify concepts: participatory democracy and proximity media.

A second axis highlights the reasons of participative democracy adoption in Algeria; and the third one connects between participatory democracy, citizenship and the proximity media in a coherent triad.
