Arabic Abstract

هدفت هذه الدراسة إلى قياس تأثير الضغط النفسي على الوزن ومستويا ت السكر التراكمي وجلوكوز الدم الصائم للحوامل أثناء فترة الحمل.

أجريت هذه الدراسة القائمة على الملاحظة على عينة من 385 امرأة حامل في عمر 24 - 28 أسبوعًا )حوالي 6 أشهر ونصف الشهر( في مستشفيات المفرق والأميرة بديعة.

تم جمع البيانات الديموغرافية والطبية وأمراض النساء من خلال مقابلة مباشرة مع المشاركات وكذلك من خلال مراجعة سجلات المريضات والأداة المستخدمة لجمع البيانات النفسية كانت مقياس الاكتئاب والقلق والتوتر الذي تم التحقق من ثبوته مسبقًا ) DASS-21 ) أظهرت النتائج أن معظم النساء الحوامل يعانين من درجة متوسطة إلى شديدة في التوتر، في حين أن معظمهن يعانين من درجة متوسطة من الاكتئاب والقلق.

بالإضافة إلى ذلك، أظهرت أن جلوكوز دم الصيام غير طبيعي ) 50.6 ٪( ، ومستوى السكر التراكمي غير طبيعي ) 56.4 ٪( عند أكثر من نصف النساء وحوالي ثلاثة أرباع كان لديهن زيادة غير طبيعية في الوزن ) 73.2 ٪(.

تم العثور على ارتباط قوي بين التوتر النفسي (DAAS) وبعض الخصائص الديموغرافية والأمراض النسائية ) p<0.05 ( كما ارتبطت درجات الاكتئاب ) p=0.015 ( والقلق ) p=0.010 ( غير الطبيعية بتطور سكري الحمل، بينما لم يرتبط الاكتئاب ولا القلق ولا التوتر بزيادة غير طبيعية في الوزن أثناء الحمل.

لذلك أوصت الدراسة بتبني استراتيجيات لتقييم الاكتئاب والقلق لدى النساء قبل الحمل لتجنب تأثيرهما على مستويات الجلوكوز على الأمهات والجنين أثناء الحمل وبعد الولادة

English Abstract

This study aimed to measure the effect of psychological stress on the weight, hemoglobin (HbA1c) and fasting blood glucose (FPG) levels of pregnant women during pregnancy.

This observational study was carried out on a sample of 385 pregnant women at 24–28 weeks (about 6 and 7 months) of gestation at Mafraq and Princess Badea hospitals.

Demographic, medical and gynecological data were collected through direct interview with the participants as well as through review of patients records and the tool used to collect psychological data was the previously validated Depression, Anxiety, and Stress Scale (DASS).

Results showed that most pregnant women had moderate to severe degree of stress, while mostly were with a moderate degree of depression and anxiety.

In addition, more than half of the women showed abnormal FPG (50.6%), abnormal HbA1c level (56.4%) and around three quarter had abnormal weight gain (73.2%).

A strong association between the psychological stress (DASS) and some demographic and gynecological characteristics were found (p-value <0.05).

Abnormal depression and anxiety scores were associated with gestational diabetes development (p=0.015 and p=0.010, respectively) while neither depression, nor anxiety, nor stress was associated with abnormal weight gain during pregnancy.

The study therefore recommended adopting strategies to assess depression and anxiety in women prior to pregnancy in order to avoid their effect on glucose levels on mothers and fetus during pregnancy and afterbirth.
