Abstract EN

The study aims to identify the role of information institutions in protecting the beneficiaries of fake information through social media, as the study sought to define fake information and social media sites in terms of types, shapes, and uses based on the various intellectual production.

The study relied on field description method for description and detailed analysis of the sample members.

A questionnaire form for data collection was used and distributed electronically, consisting of (15) questions covering all the objective aspects, and (400) questionnaires were collected.

The study reached to a number of results and identified the problems and difficulties the sample members suffer in dealing with fake information.

Finally, the study suggested recommendations that would overcome difficulties and problems in order to achieve the highest degree of benefit in the transmission of correct information.
