but when colonialism entered Algeria, it worked to destroy education by various means, so it confiscated endowments that are the source of livelihood for teachers, demolished schools and converted them into churches, and worked to convert angles into places of shame and sorcery and taught the Algerian people French education as it is modernist instead of traditional Arab Islamic education.

the Algerian people rejected this education and resisted it by various means.

the Algerian Muslim scholars association played the pioneering role, thanks to the scholar Abdel Hamid ben Badis, by educating young people and spreading awareness, and this is the best weapon to resist French colonialism.
