The study aims to identify the role of the Academic Libraries in enhancing the health information awareness.

The main library of Sultan Qaboos University (SQU) was examined as a model for the study while considering the following sub-objectives: • Identify the reality of health information awareness among the users of the main library at Sultan Qaboos University • Explore the role of the information services provided by the main library in increasing the health information awareness of the users.

• Identify the role of the main library's social media in increasing the health information awareness of the users.

This study used the quantitative method approach to achieve its objectives.

A total of 107 questionnaires were collected from the main library's users.

The results of the study showed that the users of the main library have high level of awareness of health information and the way to reach the reliable sources.

The health information sources and the databases that provided by the main library contribute the increasing of the health information awareness of the users.

The study also showed the role of the main library's social media in refuting rumors and relieving tension and anxiety of the users by sharing the reliable health information in their pages.

The study concluded with a set of recommendations; to implement sets of training programs and workshops that enhance the users' health information awareness; to support the marketing plans of the main library's social media due to their prominent role and impact in enhancing the users' health information awareness.
