The rights of performers are considered among the rights guaranteed by international legislation and conventions like other rights related to literary and artistic property, and although these rights do not rise to the level of copyright, the modern technological development has highlighted them significantly, which necessitates the need to provide legal protection for them.

This is what was actually done when the performers were granted legal protection equal to the protection granted to the rights of authors, whether in terms of penal protection or civil protection, both procedural and definitive.

Legislation has strived to adapt the performers' rights system to the requirements of the information society, ie taking into consideration the emergence of modern technologies, and providing the basic requirements for implementing more effective protection of the performing artist's right.
