This research paper aims to study the issue of the extreme right-wing parties in western Europe, whose concepts have sparked controversy in the academic and political milieu, as the extreme right-wing parties have succeeded in sweeping the political milieu by focusing on issues of immigration, Islam, economic fluctuations and concerns of culture and national identity and these factors are one of the most prominent supports and explains the rise of the extreme right-wing parties, after they were suffering from marginalization.

the study focuses on the far-right parties in France, in particular the French national front (FN) party, which suffered from electoral decline from its inception to the late eighties (1980s), where it achieved unexpected success in the European elections in 1984.

the study concludes that the French national front (FN) party, like all far-right parties in Europe, has become a key actor both in domestic and European politics, but it did not obtain enough capacities for achieving decisive electoral victory or absolute control of the political agenda.
