Abstract EN

This study aims to research the issue of heritage, which is one of the issues that contemporary Arab intellectuals are preoccupied with, and is one of the main problems in modern and contemporary Arab thought, because of the heritage's presence in the field of intellectual and philosophical studies regardless of the nature and limits of that presence.

The Egyptian thinker Hassan Hanafi is perhaps one of those who went to study and work on heritage, believing that understanding the present depends on understanding the past.

This study tries to shed light on the al-Zawahiri's emotional approach, which Hanafi tried to apply on three fronts: our position on the ancient heritage, our position on the Western heritage and reality.
