Abstract EN

The aim of the present study is to know the emotion regulation strategies used by students, and to try to find the differences in the use of these strategies according to the variable of gender.

The study sample consisted of sixty students from University of Bouzareah.

We also relied in this study on the descriptive approach which is compatible with the nature of the subject of the study.

In order to collect data, we used the Emotion regulation test of James Gross, after we calculated its psychometric properties, then we used SPSS 22 program to test the hypotheses of the study.

The results found, show that students tend to use cognitive reappraisal more than expressive suppression and there are no differences attributed to the gender factor in the use of emotion regulation strategies.
