This research studies the role of amending legal texts in fighting crime.

It aims at introducing legislative amendments, stating their causes and reasons, and justifying their connection to intellectual and technological development and the change of era.

It also aims to show the importance of these amendments, and to determine its role in deterring perpetrators and reducing crime.

Among the most the most important results of the research is that the legislative amendments are those revisions and additions that the legislator makes to the legal texts sometimes, when data or temporal events change in a way that does not fit the punitive text; which requires amendment.

Such as increasing the value of the fine due to changing the monetary value, or tightening the Punishment for a crime when its spread increases.

These amendments are very important in keeping pace with developments and events; it also has a prominent role in contributing to the fight crime
