Abstract EN

The study of the social history of societies gives us an importance on the associative action as a social phenomenon linked to the historical roots well anchored in particular in the Algerian society before the invasion of French colonialism, and during the colonial period, the associative action has become a space for framing and consolidating the national identity developed by the reformist and national elites (moderate and independent).

despite the difficulties that surrounded the emergence and activity of associations in the indigenous space due to the permanent surveillance of the colonial administration, and the great rigor with which it controlled the relations of these spaces with the national political formations, the latter experienced a diversity and abundance in the thirties.

the associations have therefore spread to Algeria and to the Skikda region in particular.

its branches have become spaces that have prompted political parties to seek to employ and attract them.

active associative personalities have played a very important role in the supervision of Algerians within charitable, cultural and sports associations
