Abstract EN

The current study aims to explore the role of social media in reinforcing social values among students of the college of education, Kuwait University.

For the purpose of the study the descriptive approach was used and a questionnaire was designed and administered on a sample of 359 students studying at Kuwait University.

Results showed that social media play a role in reinforcing openness towards multiculturalism and empathy among youth.

However, social media did not influence justice, democracy, equal educational opportunities, tolerance and anti-racism values.

In light of these results, some recommendations and suggestions were made, the most important of which is activating the role of the media security in controlling the issues published on social media and rejecting racist ideas.
