Study title : evaluation of the content of physics book 1 for the first secondary grade in the kingdom of Saudi Arabia in light of the assessment standards of the American association for the advancement of science (AAAS).

the study aimed to evaluate the content of the physics book 1 for the first secondary grade in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia in light of the assessment standards of the American association for the advancement of science AAAS, and used the content analysis method, which is one of the methods of the descriptive approach, and the research sample consisted of all physics textbooks (1), and the study tool was In the list of content evaluation according to the American association for the advancement of science (AAAS), and after statistically processing the data, a set of results were produced, the most important of which is reaching the list of evaluation of science identified by the American association for the advancement of science (AAAS), and it included five main criteria under which (8) sub-criteria fall, and (31) sub-indicators, the main criterion (compatibility between the main ideas (objectives) and content) ranked first with a frequency of (536), and with a percentage of (37.4%), and with a low degree of inclusion, and the (accuracy) criterion came in second place with a frequency of reached (322), and with a percentage of (22.4%), and with a low degree of inclusion, came in the third place the criterion (building a case) with a frequency of (222), and with a percentage of (15.4%), and with a very low degree of inclusion, came in the fourth place a criterion ( beyond scientific culture) with frequency reached (207), and with a percentage of (14.4%), and with a very low degree of inclusion.

the criterion (coherence between ideas) came in the fifth and last place, with a frequency of (146), and with a percentage of (10.2%), and with a very low degree of inclusion.

based on the previous results, the researcher recommends taking advantage of the science evaluation standards set by the American association for the advancement of science (AAAS) by officials in the field of evaluating developed physics curricula, in order to modify and improve curricula.
